Jennifer Anderson
Doula
Jennifer Anderson has lived in Cypress, Texas with her husband, four children ages 8-12, and various pets for the last six years. Born in Arkansas and raised most of her life in Washington State, Jennifer's love of sunshine brought her back to the south. She has been happily married to her husband KJ for the last 14 years and they have been blessed to expand their family with four amazing children, two who were born at a birth center and two at home.
Jennifer battled infertility and multiple miscarriages which led her to seek out the care of some of the best holistic birth workers around when she became pregnant with her first daughter. It was this group of amazing women who gave her compassionate midwifery and doula support and led Jennifer to have such peaceful, empowering birth experiences.
After Jennifer became a mother, she decided to pursue her new passion and share her love of childbirth and babies with other women by becoming a birth doula. Trained by Childbirth International and Somatic Arts & Sciences Institute's Madriella program, Jennifer became certified as a birth and postpartum doula. She has served hundreds of families in her community in her role as a doula since then and is currently pursuing her goal of becoming a midwife through ATMMTP. Jennifer eventually hopes to open an independent Christian based birth center that provides prenatal education, doula care, breastfeeding assistance, and midwifery services.
Jennifer enjoys spending her free time reading, gardening, fishing, and traveling with her friends and family. She is active within her church and community and has spent the last decade opening her home up to exchange students, refugees, and foster children from all over the world. She runs various volunteer and charity projects, as well as volunteering at Houston area pregnancy support centers. Jennifer has a passion for supporting women and families and is excited to continue her journey of becoming a midwife so she can expand her impact.
Tammy Spake
Doula
It is difficult to explain what occurs in the labor and delivery process. Whether at home, at a birthing center, or in a hospital, the experience is always miraculous to me. I love being a part of that. In a way that is beyond my own understanding, my training, my natural gifts, and my love of people combine to allow me to fully invest myself in another. This is sacred space, and I am honored to share it with those I am given the opportunity to serve.
I am passionate about women, about babies, and about birth experiences full of respect and dignity. My goal is to help make this happen. I have been blessed to help women giving birth for over 13 years, but only officially trained as a doula two years ago. The added information has only increased my passion to be a part of this wonderful event in the lives of people here in Nacogdoches, and the surrounding area.
I am a wife to Scotty, and a mom to Hazel, Hannah, William and Levi. I am an amateur photographer, a travel agent, and a minister. I love people. I love animals. And I love opportunities to help.
Laurin Farmer
Certified Doula, Veterans Association Caregiver, and Phlabotomist.
Health and Wellness Advocate and Freedom Fighter since 2013.
I've been fascinated and drawn to birth since I was a young girl, whether on my grandparents' ranch with cows and goats or home with dogs and cats, you could find me right in the middle of it. I attended my first hospital birth in 2011 and then had my first baby at home in 2017, and another again in 2020 with my second being a footling breech. I advocate for women's rights and empowerment to birth their babies in the most natural setting possible and strive to make every birth experience as enjoyable and special as I can for mother, baby, and other birth partners and attendees. I am currently working towards becoming a midwives assistant and plan to one day practice midwifery myself. I am a Christian homeschool and farm mom of two wonderful girls, a wife to an amazing husband, and a fur/feather mom to a Labrador, cats, goats, and chickens. I enjoy nature, quality time with family and friends, serving in the community, learning more natural and holistic ways of living, a strong cup of coffee, and the sound of laughter and paddleboarding; I especially love to dance and sing! I'm blessed and honored to serve mothers during such special and emotional transitions and hope each birth is a blessed and enjoyable experience with the help of Motherly Transitions. I am happy to serve our community alongside Priscilla and the rest of our team. Stay blessed ♡
Karissa Wallace
Birth & Postpartum Doula
Karissa is a native East Texan currently living in Lufkin, Texas! After high school Karissa felt a call to ministry and attended Bible college in Dallas where she met her husband John. Together they spent two years working for a church in New Mexico before relocating to East Texas in 2017! Since then they have celebrated 7 years of marriage, about 6 years being in the ministry of some sort and the Wallace's have added 3 beautiful girls to the mix! Emberlee, Oaklynn and Magnolia! All ranging in age from 1-5! With each pregnancy Karissa had a different birthing experience. The first being a traditional hospital birth with an epidural, the second being in a more birthing center modeled wing of a hospital under the care of a midwife and the third being a water birth at home under the care of Priscilla! Karissa had been labeled as a high risk patient for pregnancy by the traditional medical system for no real reason and was forced to have a induction with her second daughter Oaklynn which ended in dilating to a 10 and having her in one hour. Oaklynn was born lifeless because of it. Thankfully the Lord had better plans and she was saved and has been amazing ever since, but after that awful experience Karissa knew there had to be a better way and sought a holistic approach. Which led Karissa to find Priscilla! Karissa's third baby was born at home in a birthing pool under the wonderful care of Priscilla, where she was able to labor and birth the way she wanted to with full confidence knowing her body was doing what it was created to do despite being labeled high risk. This incredible, empowering experience marked Karissa and has compelled her on a path to help other women experience pregnancy, labor and birth the way their bodies were designed to without things being forced on them or being told how they can do x, y and z when it comes to birthing your baby. "Women are created to birth babies. It shouldn't be something scary, it should be empowering and beautiful. Women are capable of having such an incredible experience with sweet memories that will last your lifetime when it comes to having a baby!"- Karissa Wallace

Kylee Vondra
Instructor
Kylee was raised in the East Texas town of Grapeland. At 17, she moved to the Florida Keys to pursue her passions for diving. Along the journey she found herself over worked, while dealing with unsolvable GI issues. On a quest to find peace and healing, she gave yoga a try and never looked back. After six years of practicing she decided to take a teacher training with Keepers of the Earth Yoga Teacher School, ran by Grant Ifflander. The training came, while once again, on a healing journey after a compressed fracture in her lumbar spine and broken left tibia. The training left her stronger than before the injuries and ready teach!
Kylee has recently been inspired to take up a Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, as she is growing her first child and is gleefully embracing the road to motherhood! This training is taught by Online Yoga School, of the Yoga and Ayurveda Center, ran by Steph.
Kylee is traditionally Hatha (pronounced ha-ta) trained with extensive passions for Pranayama (breath work). In each class you can expect a flow that mimics the natural progression of life. We start with the breath (a short pranayama practice). Then beginning to move slow and low to the ground. Making our way to standing, increasing the pace and heat. To finally finding ourselves on the ground, back where we started from. We will enjoy rest at the end of each class.
"Breath is Guru!"
